Reposted: A Letter to the Reader:
The purpose statement of Truth-Watch is being reposted in light of recent comments:
…”Although the Ohio Conference seems to like its conference president, a local anti-IC, anti-Raj website popped up, which conceals the identity of many of its contributors.” [http://www.spectrummagazine.org/node/1923]
We are asking YOU, brothers and sisters, to research for yourself to determine what change is taking place within the Seventh-day-Adventist Church and not to take our word for it. We would entreat you to be good Bereans and examine the scriptures everyday to determine if what your pastors are promoting is in harmony with Biblical truth (Acts 17:11). If they speak not according to this word, there is no light in them. John 11:10
The coming of the Lord is closer than soon, and we are very concerned that His bride will be ready to meet Him. 2 Thessalonians 2: 8-10 tells us that Satan will work with power, signs, and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie. . . As watchmen on the wall (Ezekiel 33:1-11), we are compelled to warn you of non-Biblical ideas and methods that have captured the attention of much of the Christian church at large and now have active proponents within the Seventh-day Adventist Church too. These ideas and methods include (among others) the Emerging Church Movement, Pantheism, Mysticism, and grace without accountability. The National Conference on Innovation sponsored by the Ohio Conference has since 2005 featured a variety of speakers who, through the context of “innovation” support New Age Mysticism and Inter Faith Spirituality.
The hour is very late; there is no time to waste. Satan will slowly and imperceptibly deceive us if we are not praying and staying in our Bibles regularly. He is our enemy, not our brothers and sisters. Please intercede for our churches and our leaders and ask the Lord to give you discernment. Pray earnestly for a love of the truth to be joined with love for each other. The time has come to heed the call to “contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.”

The Ohio Conference has for years produced a newsletter entitled trendwatch. It's purpose, to identify trends that impact the church, and through which the church can somehow be more successful. Truth-watch.com is meant to contrast the look and more importantly the outlook of trendwatch.
trendwatch may look toward the horizon for what trend may be coming, Truth-watch.com wants to stand upon the shoulders of those whom the One Spirit has led in the past; and to examine more carefully the Truth that is in our midst.
trendwatch may want to get the pulse of the culture we live in, Truth-watch.com wants to be led by the Spirit into an understanding of present truth.
trendwatch may seek to engage and become "relevent" to the culture, while Truth-watch.com seeks to uplift the Way to live beyond our culture based on the unchanging Word of God.
Truth-watch.com believes Truth Illuminates-Truth Anchors-Truth Unites.

2007-11-03 OUR AWAKENING... Will it encourage yours? Not by choice but of necessity we have become ‘Watchmen on the walls.” We did not pursue this task nor do we aspire to simply “champion another cause”. Our postmodern lives (perhaps like yours) are already busy to overflowing. Yet we are compelled to trumpet a warning. This is not to suggest that we are wiser than others. It is not to suggest that we have complete understanding of all that has happened…or is happening. It is to suggest that we perceive a “battle of spiritual forces” is being waged to change the core theology of Seventh Day Adventism from within. As a result, we are compelled to respond to the admonition: “Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.” Jude 3 |

Letter to the Reader: The coming of the Lord is closer than soon, and we are very concerned that His bride will be ready to meet Him. 2 Thessalonians 2: 8-10 tells us that Satan will work with power, signs, and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. These ideas and methods include (among others) the Emerging Church Movement, Pantheism, Mysticism, and grace without accountability. The National Conference on Innovation sponsored by the Ohio Conference has for the last two years, featured a speaker who supports ideas which fall within the category of New Age or Metaphysics (which are terms for spiritualism). This year there will be four speakers at the Innovation conference. One of them is a leader in the Emerging Church Movement, [Meet the Speakers: Doug Pagitt] and another is involved with mysticism [Meet the Speakers: Rabbi Marcia Prager] We are asking YOU, brothers and sisters, to research for yourself to determine what change is taking place within the Seventh-day Adventist Church and not to take our word for it. We would entreat you to be good Bereans and examine the scriptures everyday to determine if what your pastors are promoting is in harmony with Biblical truth (Acts 17:11).
